The trademark symbol ™ is a small raised "TM" written after a brand name to say "we use this name as our trademark". So the symbol of trademark you choose depends on your status. While you apply, or even if you never apply, you can use ™ to show you treat the name as your brand. Where to Place the TM Symbol
- Right after the brand name, with no space: QuickNotes™
- Usually small and raised (superscript)
- At the first prominent use on a page, a pack or an ad; you do not need it every time the name appears
- After the brand, not after the product type: "QuickNotes™ app", not "QuickNotes app™"

Trademark Symbol HTML and TM Symbol Text
For a website, the trademark symbol html entity is ™. You can also use ™. For ℠ use ℠, and for ® use ®.
If a system accepts only plain letters (some SMS gateways, old forms), the tm symbol text fallback is (TM) or just TM in capitals. Note that ™️ with the emoji style can look big and blue on phones; for brand text, use the plain ™ (first in the grid).
Common Mistakes With the TM Trademark Symbol
- Using ® before the mark is registered. Use ™ until registration is complete.
