The Indian flag emoji ๐ฎ๐ณ is the first thing many of us add on 15 August and 26 January, and this page puts it one tap away along with every India emoji people use most for festivals, sport and culture. Tap any emoji in the grid to copy it.
India celebrates many festivals, and the emoji set does not have a ready picture for each one. So below you will find which real emojis people combine for Diwali, Holi, Raksha Bandhan, Navratri, Eid, Christmas and more, with short original wishes you can copy. We keep the tone respectful: these are suggestions, and every family has its own way of greeting.
How the India Flag Emoji Works
The India flag emoji is not one character. It is two special letters, called regional indicator symbols, for I and N (the country code for India). Phones read the pair and draw the tiranga. That has two effects:
- When you copy ๐ฎ๐ณ you copy both letters together. If you delete it, you may need to press backspace twice.
- On Windows PCs, flags usually appear as the letters "IN" instead of a picture, because Windows does not draw country flag emojis. The flag is still there; it will show properly when the message is opened on a phone.
There is no single Word code for the flag, so copy it from this page. If you want only the colours, the tiranga emoji combo ๐งก๐ค๐ is popular for Independence Day and Republic Day. Many people prefer to use the flag in proud or respectful messages rather than jokes. For India's other official emblems, see national symbols of India.
Indian Emoji Meanings: The Grid Explained

| ๐ฎ๐ณ | Flag: India | Independence Day, Republic Day, cheering India |
| ๐ช | Diya lamp | Diwali, puja, light and good wishes |
| ๐ | Folded hands | Namaste, thank you, please, prayer |
| ๐๏ธ | Om | Sacred sound in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism |
| ๐งฟ | Nazar amulet | Protection from the evil eye, "nazar na lage" |
| ๐ฑ | Trident emblem | Trishul, linked with Lord Shiva |
| ๐ชท | Lotus | Purity, India's national flower |
| ๐ฆ | Peacock | National bird, used in Krishna wishes |
| ๐ฏ | Tiger face | National animal, wildlife |
| ๐ | Cricket game | Match day, cricket fans |
| ๐ฅป | Sari | Saree, ethnic wear, festive look |
๐ can be misread outside India as a high five, but Indian readers almost always take it as namaste or thanks; see namaste symbol. ๐๏ธ is one of the original emojis; ๐ช and ๐ฅป came in Emoji 12.0 and ๐ชท in Emoji 14.0, so very old phones may show a box. Text versions of these signs are on om symbol, trishul symbol and evil eye symbol.
Krishna Emoji, Ganesha Emoji and God Emoji: What to Know
There is no emoji of any god or goddess in Unicode. That includes Krishna, Ganesha, Durga and others. When people search for a god emoji, they usually want a respectful symbol set to add to a wish. Common choices:
- Krishna emoji: ๐ช๐ฆ (flute and peacock, since Krishna is often shown with a flute and a peacock feather) or ๐ฆ๐ for "Jai Shree Krishna".
- Ganesha emoji: ๐๐บ with ๐ is a common set; some people prefer only ๐๐บ and avoid the animal picture.
- Shiva: ๐ฑ with ๐๏ธ.
- Durga Maa: ๐ฑ๐บ๐.
These are informal choices. If you are unsure how a family or group feels, a simple ๐ or ๐ช is always respectful. For symbols from other faiths, see religious symbols.
