Emoji Kitchen is a feature in Google's Gboard keyboard that takes two emojis, say ๐ and ๐ฅ, and blends them into one new sticker. Google launched it on Gboard in 2020, Some people call it the Google emoji mashup, and it has become the easiest way to make funny mixed emojis without any extra app.
This guide shows how to use it step by step on Android, where the stickers can be sent, why you cannot copy and paste them like normal emojis, and what to check when Emoji Kitchen is not working. Feature details can change with Gboard updates, so treat this as a general guide. This site is not linked to Google. The emojis in the grid above are normal characters you can copy to try your own mixes.
What Is Google Emoji Kitchen?
Normal emojis are text characters. Emoji Kitchen mixes are different: they are small pictures (stickers) designed by Google artists. When you pick two emojis, Gboard looks for a ready-made design that combines them. If one exists, it suggests it as a sticker.
| Normal emoji | Emoji Kitchen mix | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A Unicode character | An image sticker |
| Can you copy and paste it? | Yes, anywhere | No, it is sent as a picture |
| Works in usernames and bios? | Yes | No |
| Looks the same on every phone? | No, each phone draws its own | Yes, everyone sees the same image |
Because a mix is a picture, not every pair works. Google has made designs for a very large number of pairs, but some combinations simply do not have one.
How to Use Gboard Emoji Kitchen
- Make sure Gboard is your keyboard. On most Android phones it is preinstalled; if not, install it from the Play Store.
- Open a chat in an app that accepts stickers, such as WhatsApp, Messages or Telegram.
- Tap the emoji key on the keyboard.
- Tap one emoji, for example ๐ญ. A row of sticker suggestions appears above the keyboard.
- Tap a second emoji, for example ๐. The suggestions change to mixes of those two.
- Tap the sticker you like. It is sent like an image.
If no stickers appear, the app may not accept stickers in that box, or there may be no design for that pair. Try a different pair, like โค๏ธ with ๐, which usually has a mix.
Combine Emojis Without Gboard
In some regions and on supported devices, Google Search also lets you try Emoji Kitchen. Search for "emoji kitchen" in the Google app or browser; where available, a small mixer appears where you can pick two emojis and copy or share the result as an image.
People also search for "emoji supply kitchen" or "emoji.supply kitchen". This refers to third-party websites that show Emoji Kitchen designs in a browser. They are not run by Google, and the results are still images. Use them only to download pictures, and do not install unknown apps from such sites.
On an iPhone, Gboard is available from the App Store, but sticker features can work differently from Android. If mixes do not appear on your iPhone, use Google Search where available. More about iPhone emojis is on our iPhone emoji guide.
Using Emoji Kitchen Stickers in WhatsApp
- Emoji Kitchen Gboard stickers go into WhatsApp like any other sticker: tap the mix and WhatsApp sends it as a sticker straight away.
- Once sent, tap the sticker in the chat and choose the option to add it to your favourites, so you do not need to make it again.
- Stickers cannot be used in a WhatsApp status text, name or about line. Use normal emoji combos there instead, such as those on our emoji combos page.
- If you want the mix as a status picture, save it from Google Search where available and post it as an image.
For reactions and everyday WhatsApp emojis, see WhatsApp emoji.
Fun Mixed Emojis to Try
These pairs are popular starting points. Results depend on your Gboard version, so you may see a different design or none at all.
| Pair | Mood you get | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| ๐ + ๐ญ | Happy and sad mix | "Laughing but crying inside" moments |
| ๐ + ๐ | Skull laughing | A joke that destroyed you |
| โค๏ธ + ๐ฅ | Burning heart | Big love, hot new post |
| ๐ + โค๏ธ | Heart-filled smile | Warm thanks to a friend |
| ๐ฅบ + ๐ | Begging, please | Asking for notes before the exam |
| ๐ด + ๐ | Sleepy study | Late-night revision |
| ๐ถ + โค๏ธ | Puppy love | Pet photos |
Mixes of two faces usually work best. Pairs with flags, letters and many objects often have no design. If you want something fully your own, our emoji maker page explains other ways to create a custom emoji.

Emoji Kitchen Not Working? Try These Fixes
- Update Gboard from the Play Store. New mixes arrive with updates.
- Turn on emoji suggestions: open Gboard settings (the gear icon on the keyboard, or Settings > System > Keyboard > Gboard on many phones), go to Emojis, stickers and GIFs, and turn on the sticker or emoji suggestion options. Menu names can differ by version.
- Check the app: Emoji Kitchen only appears in apps that accept stickers or images. A notes app or an email subject line will not show it.
- Use Gboard, not another keyboard: Samsung Keyboard, SwiftKey and others do not have Emoji Kitchen.
- Try a known pair: two faces like ๐ and ๐ญ. If those work, the problem was only the pair you chose.
- Restart the phone after an update if suggestions still do not show.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an Emoji Kitchen download or app?
There is no separate Emoji Kitchen app to download. It is part of Gboard, which you get from the Play Store (or App Store). Be careful with APKs or apps that use the name; they are not from Google.
Can I copy and paste an Emoji Kitchen emoji?
Not as text. A mix is an image, so it can be shared or saved as a picture but not pasted into a username, bio or Word file like a normal emoji. Normal emojis from our emoji copy and paste hub work everywhere.
How to combine emojis on Android without Gboard?
You can place two normal emojis side by side, like ๐๐ญ, which works on any keyboard. For a single blended sticker, you need Gboard or Google Search's Emoji Kitchen where available.
What is the kitchen sink emoji?
There is no emoji named kitchen sink. The closest options are ๐ฐ (potable water), ๐ฝ๏ธ (fork and knife with plate) and ๐งฝ (sponge). People sometimes search it while looking for Emoji Kitchen.
Is Emoji Kitchen Google's own feature?
Yes. Emoji Kitchen is made by Google and lives inside Gboard and, in some regions, Google Search. The emoji designs it blends are Google's own style, which is why mixes look like Android emojis even on an iPhone.
Does the other person need Gboard to see my mixed emoji?
No. The mix is sent as an image, so anyone can see it in an app that shows stickers, whatever keyboard or phone they use.
